I’m just taking a quick coffee break between working on a some new pages and a bunch of commissions for the show.

Really looking forward to SDCC! I would like to say a special thanks to Clydeen and DeviantArt For all of the amazingness!!

The nominations for the 2011 Joe Shuster awards (JSA) have been posted.

I’m stoked to to be included among the nominated in their Outstanding Web Comics Creator(s) category.

The award’s will take place in June at the Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo.

I was and am still hoping to find a way to make it down to Calgary this year I hear the show is amazing!

Wish me luck peeps! There is stiff competition not the least of which are buddies of mine so please check out all the nominees and their awesome comics!

And once successful you can expect a return to daily posting (I jumped the gun a bit out of excitement)

The site will be going down in at some point very soon for the overhaul.

It rapidly devolved into madness from there.

More tomorrow-

This past year has been very
exciting for me as an artist, and I can’t wait for what this year
holds. One of the things I am going to be striving for in 2011 is
to improve 600poundgorilla so that it more embodies my
megalomaniacal aspirations that the site becomes the digital
reflection of my creative ventures. What started all of this was
that nagging voice in your head, well my head in this case, that
kept saying “make it better, faster…” and towards the end of 2010
I really wanted to do just that. So one of my new years resolutions
is to give it the focus and fuck-ups it deserves because that voice
is still saying “make it better, …” A few years ago I sort of
wiped the slate clean and in that quest for that twisted ideal of a
tabula rosa and got rid of my video and flash content, with the
intent to make the focus on storytelling projects. In case you are
wonder, yes the same voice told me to do that to.

Now that the storytelling projects are well on solid foundations that voice is
back and I feel it is time for me to make the site better again. I
hope you will enjoy the terrifying ride with me. My plan is to
return to posting content for my art and #MetaN, also to add
blogging about other things that fuel and inspire me in a new
articles section. I am hoping it can be a place where I can share
reviews, thoughts, and musings with you and you can tell me what
kind of nut job I am. A big part of this for me is to return to
creating video content and making it much more of a multimedia
presentation in general. It has been rattling around the brain box
for a while that I want to experiment with bringing in more
multimedia to my work. I can’t wait to show you, some of the places
and things I dreamed up over the holidays!

One area of experimentation I’d like to try is the dreaded motion-comic beast.
I haven’t seen a lot that I really like but it seems to be an
interesting stepchild to the traditional comic medium and I wanna
play with it some more. My hope is it will be interesting and
engaging works that you can enjoy in tandem with the comic. So
there is a little peek into the changes you can expect to see
happening here in 2011, coming from that creaking corner in the
back of my brain. I hope you’ll come by often and check out the
changes in progress, words of encouragement are always welcome as
is the the occasional ‘watch out for the iceberg you mad man’. I
appreciate all you wonderful folks who’ve already chimed in about
the changes I’ve planned. It means a great deal to me to know that
you guys are cheering on these creative choices.
